Advanced Contemporary Community Nursing
The aim of this module is to enable you to critically explore the theories, principles and concepts which underpin improving health and wellbeing. This module is part of the MSc Advancing Practice (District Nursing) route, but can also be undertaken as a stand-alone module.
- Theories, principles, and concepts which underpin improving health and wellbeing
- The theoretical concepts of person-centred assessment and professional decision making
- The theoretical basis of a range of strategies and approaches to addressing healthcare needs
- Complexity and influences associated with providing care in the community setting
- Principles and concepts of managing teams and caseloads

Learning Methods
This module is delivered online via CampusMoodle and is supported by well sourced and relevant web-based sites and recommended reading.
You will be encouraged to become involved in several activities, including reflection, problem based scenarios, discussion forums, and online tutorials (synchronous and a-synchronous).
Assessment
This course is assessed through written assignment.
