Combine advanced mechanical engineering with specialist offshore expertise to tackle complex challenges in offshore and energy industries. Develop your knowledge of offshore structures, hydrodynamics, drilling and production alongside advanced engineering analysis, preparing you for professional roles involving demanding offshore, subsea and energy systems.

Progress from mechanical engineering fundamentals to advanced analysis of offshore and energy systems, including hydrodynamics, structural loading, drilling, production and advanced fluid dynamics. Master's-level study develops deeper expertise in reliability, sustainability and engineering leadership, supported by substantial project work. The Fast-Track route combines additional advanced study with compulsory summer industrial placements, giving you valuable experience of applying engineering knowledge within a professional environment.

The first two years are common across our Mechanical Engineering courses. At the end of Year 2, you can make an informed decision about which route you wish to take.
