Wind Tunnel

Our Wind Tunnel is used by the School of Engineering for experimental procedures and hands-on learning.

Our Wind Tunnel is a Plint TE 44 subsonic model. It has a cross section of 460mm x 460mm and allows you to simulate an air flow up to 20 m/s.

The TecQuipment Three-Component balance measures lift and drag forces. The data is logged on a computer and the software allows real-time data capture which can then calculate, display and chart all the relevant parameters.

There is also an anemometer which is used to measure the air velocity and temperature of wind.
