Temitope Falana - MSc Digital Marketing

Temitope Falana
Temitope, from Lagos in Nigeria, joined Robert Gordon University to move towards a different career path having spent several years across various sales and marketing roles.

Craving the opportunity to be more digital and entrepreneurially focused, the mature student relocated to Aberdeen after the Garthdee institution was highly recommended to him by peers.

“RGU Stood out for me amongst my choices of university to attend because of the good ratings from students and the teaching approach. There were so much positive reviews from previous students I spoke to.

“The course was much needed for my career transition, and I found that RGU is the right place for it.”

Enrolling in a master’s degree in Digital Marketing in the School of Creative and Cultural Business, Temitope went on to graduate with distinction having relished the opportunity in front of him – even founding the University’s first Entrepreneurship and Innovation Student Society.

“This degree has prepared me beyond my imagination. We worked with five live clients while on the course and this simulation has prepared me for the real world by equipping me with the skills to successfully thrive in the business terrain.

“My highlight is having the opportunity to intern with the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Group at RGU while I study. This experience has allowed me to gain much-needed experience.

After enjoying a successful placement with EIG, Temitope has now been employed full-time within the team as a Student Enterprise Co-Ordinator and doesn’t see himself leaving Aberdeen any time soon.

“The career service at RGU is second to none, they try their best to assist international students to find their footings here in the UK and I have been a beneficiary of their services.

“Aberdeen is a great city, so I look forward to staying and building my career here.

“With hindsight, I’ll do it all over again. The total experience has helped me harness the much-needed skills and knowledge for the next stage of my career.”
