This module develops a strong understanding of contemporary built asset procurement and contractual practice, enabling students to evaluate how time, cost, quality, and risk shape project decisions. Learners explore traditional and modern procurement routes, assess contractual obligations and risks, and apply this knowledge to produce robust construction delivery strategies for complex project scenarios.
Through a portfolio-based approach, students gain practical, industry-relevant skills in selecting procurement pathways and developing effective project delivery solutions.
This module provides additional depth in built asset procurement and contract practice, exploring both traditional and modern digitised approaches such as BIM-enabled procurement. It examines key contractual frameworks, including SBCC, NEC, and FIDIC, alongside collaborative arrangements. The module also integrates sustainability considerations aligned with SDG 12 and is enhanced by industry engagement through guest input and applied insights.
