Subject success for RGU in latest Complete University Guide

Robert Gordon University (RGU) has achieved significant success at subject level with four different areas ranked inside the UK’s top 10 and positive placings in student satisfaction and both graduate prospect measures across a wide range of subjects in the Complete University Guide 2025.

Physiotherapy at RGU is ranked inside the UK’s top five subjects, retaining its number one placing in Scotland. It also came out top for student satisfaction and the graduate prospect measures in both the UK and Scotland. Forensic Science is inside the UK’s top five and rated second in Scotland.

Food Science and Counselling, Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy not only secured places in the UK’s top 10 but were also second and third in Scotland respectively.  

Further positive achievements came in other subjects with Social Work, Business and Management Studies, Building, Art and Design and Architecture all achieving first in Scotland for student satisfaction. Medical Technology and Bioengineering, Food Science, Biomedical Sciences were number one in both the UK and Scotland for the graduate prospect outcomes measure.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering was rated as top in the UK and Scotland in the prospects outcomes on track measure with Pharmacology and Pharmacy, Medical Technology and Bioengineering and Building being placed as first in Scotland on the same measure.

The Graduate Prospects outcomes measure used in the Complete University Guide relates to the proportion of graduates who take up employment or further study divided by the total number of graduates with a known destination.  The Graduate Prospects on track measure is defined as the proportion of graduates who agree that their activity is on track with their future plans.

The Complete University Guide is an independent university league table that ranks 130 UK-based institutions across ten different measures. Released every year, the Complete University Guide aims to support prospective students in making informed decisions about their future.
