The Management Programme

The Management Programme

Delivered by the globally recognised Aberdeen Business School, this suite of courses is suitable for those aspiring to achieve contemporary business knowledge and practical skills to build a rewarding career.

Aberdeen Business School has been named Business School of the Year (Times Higher Education 2020 Awards) in recognition of our work-based learning, teaching and the innovative approaches of our staff to provide all our students with an outstanding business education.

Aberdeen Business School’s Management Programme compromises four undergraduate degrees:

When studying one of our management degrees, you will undertake a common first year, providing you a strong foundation in the core business disciplines. From Year 2 the courses diverge according to the route you choose. This programme design allows you to make the most appropriate choice once you have been exposed to a full year of study in management. This means, if you wish, you will have the opportunity to move to an alternative course on the programme after completion of your first year.

In Year 3, you have a number of route choices available to you:

  • Placement - A year-long paid placement with regional, national or international business and associated Evidencing Employability module
  • Connect to Business –Bespoke employability and enterprise projects with real industry partners plus a selection of modules covering management research skills
  • Taught route - Advanced taught modules according to the degree specialism, including a focus on management research skills, management consultancy in industry and enterprise development.

There are a number of other benefits to the management programme:

  • Opportunity to study abroad across Year 2 and 3
  • Business Ideas and Opportunities module in Year 2 enables you to work in multidisciplinary teams and develop your creative skills by building and refining your own business idea. You can then present this idea to industry partners and staff at our annual Trade Fair
  • Strong industry links ensure the courses are relevant and developed in line with industry demands
  • Industry involvement in the shape of scholarships, industry sponsored prizes, guest lectures and masterclasses.
