Award Criteria

Each of our RGUplus awards have three levels to achieve. Find out about the criteria for achieving each level.

  • Bronze - Supports an individual in reflecting on their participation.
  • Silver - Supports an individual to reflect on the impact that they have made to themselves and the community, organisation or activity.
  • Gold - Inspires an individual to consider and celebrate the legacy of their involvement.

RGUplus Award - Sustainability

Eligible for RGU students only

Bronze

  • Undergraduate students, after completion of the academic year - Minimum 100 word reflection (or 1 minute video, voice note or presentation) on their skills development and how this has or will help them in the future.
  • Postgraduate students - the online module for postgraduate students will be launched Sept 2025.

Silver

  • On completion of (Sustainability) Bronze Award - invited to complete silver log book and submit minimum 300 word reflection (or 2 min voice note or video).

Gold

  • On completion of (Sustainability) Silver Award - invited to complete gold log book and submit minimum 750 word reflection (or 4 min voice note or video).

RGUplus Award - Entrepreneurial Mindset

Eligible for RGU students only

Bronze

  • Students whose course is accredited by EIG - Minimum 100 word reflection (or 1 minute video, voice note or presentation) on their skills development and how this has or will help them in the future.
  • Students whose course currently not accredited by EIG - the online module for students on these courses will be launched Sept 2025.

Silver

  • On completion of (Entrepreneurial Mindset) Bronze Award - invited to attend Level 2 Silver Workshop and submit minimum 300 word reflection (or 2 min voice note/video).

Gold

  • On completion of (Entrepreneurial Mindset) Silver Award - invited to complete Level 3 Gold Activity and submit minimum 750 word reflection (or 4 min voice note/video).

Denis Law RGUplus Award - Community Engagement

Bronze

  • Individual identifies activity(ies) that they have participated in for 50 hours.
  • Minimum 100 word reflection (or 1 minute video, voice note, or presentation) on their skills development and how this has or will help them in the future.
  • Completion of Skills Track.

Silver

  • Individual identifies activity(ies) that they have participated in for 100 hours, and through a position of responsibility, creation of a project or involvement in an event that has had impact on the organisation.
  • Minimum 300 word reflection (or 2 minute video or voice note) on the impact that their individual contribution has had on the organisation. This should include the skills that were developed and how these skills will help in their future.  
  • Completion of Skills Track.

Gold

  • Individual identifies activity(ies) that they have participated in for 200 hours and have been involved in the creation of a resource, event, award of programme that has established legacy in the community or RGU.
  • Testimonial from Organisation Leader
  • Testimonial from member of the community/organisation that you activity was involved in.
  • Minimum 750 word reflection (or 4 minute video or voice note) demonstrating the impact that your individual contribution has had on the organisation. In your reflection consider: any obstacles or barriers that you had to overcome; what you learnt from the situation about you; showcase how the initiative or project has been adopted by the organisation; reflect on the testimonials from the organisation leader and member of the community or organisation that your activity was involved in – were you aware of the impact that you had?

Academic Credit

Anyone who completes any aspect of RGUplus Global Citizen Award, can also gain academic credit at the appropriate SCQF Level through EIL (Evidencing Independent Learning) or ECE (Evidencing Community Engagement) through RGUFlex.
