Scottish newspaper coverage of domestic abuse from the 1970s to the present day
Research Opportunities
Summary
The aim would be to investigate how far legislation and guidelines have impacted on the way in which domestic abuse and survivors of such abuse have been portrayed in newspapers since the 1970s, when the first domestic abuse organisations were established in Scotland. The digitization of local and national newspapers offers new opportunities for an analysis of this nature within the different legislative and media context offered by Scotland.
