Incels, MRAs and Chads: Entering and exiting the manosphere
The project would focus on young men’s interactions with the manosphere: a coalition of online communities in which anti-feminist/ male hegemonic masculinities are constructed and affirmed via alpha and beta masculine identities.

Summary
It aims to explore why some men are drawn towards these spaces, and how their emotional needs are met by such digital communities. It would look at the ideological framework and group norms these spaces adopt, along with the masculine identities and archetypes they encourage. The project would also engage with people who have left these spaces and the subsequent changes to their self-concept.
