It is common with many university buildings that energy consumption is not monitored. There is a significant lack of framework and tools implemented to: identify where energy is being consumed, detect faults, or determine where energy saving measures could be implemented to greatest effect.

Summary

The project will highlight a number of key problem areas that are affecting University campuses. The project aims to help create a Digital Twin of our university campus, utilising environmental software programmes, such as Integrated Environmental. The project objective is two-fold:

to help the university in the area of ‘decarbonisation of the built environment’
to enable the Estates team to better manage their building energy efficiency and plan interventions at the lowest cost and risk, with maximum impact. The project aims to conduct further investigation and advise on a series of energy-saving interventions, to be implemented across the university to yield satisfactory results.
