Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module, students are expected to be able to:

• Analyse the evidence and policies underpinning professional practice, encompassing regulatory, legal and credentialing requirements relevant to your area of practice.
• Critically explore an area of quality improvement in relation to an identified area of practice.
• Critically discuss the factors that impact on contemporary healthcare delivery.
• Examine how technology and contemporary health communication systems can influence professional practice.
• Critically reflect on how strategic, cultural and organisational challenges can impact the development of practice.

Learning Methods

This module runs over 7.5 weeks, 5 weeks online deliver and 2.5 weeks preparation of academic summative assessment. 

During the 5 weeks of online delivery, there are 4 interactive topic learning guides to direct students learning. These lead into 4 online asynchronous discussion forums to facilitate students sharing their learning and help build a learning community. This module is delivered online through the University's Virtual Learning Environment, Moodle.

There are 2 live MS Teams based contact days 09:30 - 13:30, where lectures are recorded, but interactive small group sessions are not recorded to allow freedom of discussion.

Additionally there are 2 x 1 hour drop in sessions during the module delivery.

Recorded lectures and weblinks to applicable videos further support topic learning and different preferred ways of learning.

Independent Study

You are expected to undertake at least 15 hours per week of independent study.
