The Fight Against Transnational Crime – Managing Concurrent Jurisdiction
Research Opportunities
Summary
Whilst of value, this has also created problems. Exorbitant claims to jurisdiction, human rights violations, irregular rendition and abduction, costly and complex criminal trials and, arguably, egregious and neo-imperialist applications of law by the most powerful states.
A system that manages and curtails the assumption of transnational and extraterritorial jurisdiction is called for.
PhD research into the progress and impediments towards law that effectively manages concurrent criminal jurisdiction is now needed.
