Advanced water treatment for removal of micropollutants and microbes
Research Opportunities
Summary
We have a specific interest in photocatalytic treatment particularly exploiting either low energy LEDs or natural solar illumination. Removal of microbes could investigate elimination of pathogens in drinking water or in aquaculture. We also have a significant interest in the removal of hazardous cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) and the toxins they produce.
Clean Water, Green Future: The Story of Bio-Based Treatment
Episode one of Research Revealed focuses on a research project aiming to tackle the global issue of a lack of safe, reliable drinking water. In it, lead researchers to discuss the intricacies of the project, who's involved and how natural, existing material could be key to helping millions of people.
