What Our Students Say
Steph Groat
CertHE in Paralegal Practice student.
Why did you choose to study Paralegal Practice at RGU?
I chose to study at RGU for a couple of reasons. The main being that RGU offers a unique course specific to Paralegal's with the hopes of gaining a Law Society of Scotland accreditation upon completion. Additionally, the course was attractive as its fully online allowing me to continue my full-time employment as a Paralegal whilst studying.
Can you sum up your experience on the course so far?
The course so far has introduced me to different areas of law which I wouldn't have come across in my day-to-day role. It has also allowed me to connect with other Paralegal's from a variety of firms and practice areas. However, the course has also expanded my knowledge of my own practice area, encouraging me to reflect on my experiences and use that to complete tutorial tasks.
Would you recommend the Paralegal Practice course to a peer?
I would definitely recommend this course to other Paralegals who are looking to expand their knowledge whilst continuing to work. I would also recommend the course to Paralegal's who are potentially interested in changing practice area as it provides a brief insight into many different areas of law.
How do you think the course will impact your future career?
The course will not only allow me to apply to the Law Society of Scotland to gain an accreditation, which will provide assurance to my firm and our clients. It will also give me the opportunity to potentially further my studies with the view of qualifying as a Solicitor in the future.
