What attracted you to your course at RGU?

The MSc International Business Management course at RGU is meticulously designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the global business environment and develop the essential skills required for effectively managing international business operations. Numerous factors contribute to the course's allure such as experienced faculty members some of whom have taught for over 30 years, advanced teaching and learning equipment, etc. These factors greatly increased the course’s attractiveness, as I seek to excel in the field of international business management.

Before coming to RGU, what was your expectation of it - and how has the reality been? 

Prior to embarking on my Masters degree journey at RGU, I held a multitude of expectations. I sought a university that would provide devoted lecturers and supportive non-teaching staff who would provide me with the needed support every step of the way. My aspiration was to acquire the essential skills, knowledge, and proficiency inherent in studying MSc International Business Management, equipping myself thoroughly for the competitive job market and enhancing my personal value. Additionally, I longed for an institution that would foster a conducive networking environment, providing ample opportunities for interaction with fellow students, esteemed lecturers, and business professionals, as well as reputable companies and organizations.

With absolute certainty, I can proclaim that my expectations have not only been met but also surpassed during my time at RGU. Reflecting on my experience here, I hold it in the highest regard and treasure it as an invaluable chapter in my academic journey.

What's the best thing about being an RGU student? 

As an RGU student, I find the unparalleled level of support to be one of the most remarkable aspects of my experience. The entire university community is consistently prepared and eager to assist and guide me toward success. There is a culture of unwavering support, with no hesitation or reluctance in providing help whenever it is needed. This incredible support network enables me to approach my studies with a sense of relaxation and unwavering focus, knowing that assistance is readily available whenever I require it.

Describe your favourite memory of RGU so far? 

As the second semester drew to a close, a memorable event unfolded: our class gathered for a group photograph alongside our esteemed lecturers. To my delight, I found myself standing beside one particular lecturer who happened to be significantly taller than me, accentuating our noticeable height difference. A light-hearted moment ensued as we prepared for the picture, and she jovially remarked that she would need to lift me for the shot. The remark caught me off guard, and I erupted into uncontrollable laughter. The sheer humour of the situation made it an unforgettable memory for me. It was a profound honour to stand beside my lecturer, and her playful banter not only showcased her approachability but also made me feel seen and valued as a student. This whimsical encounter stands out as one of the finest moments during my time at RGU, encapsulating the camaraderie and light-heartedness that have made my experience truly exceptional.

Tell us about your most challenging/rewarding project/assignment/module. What did you like/ dislike about it and how has it helped you? 
The first semester proved to be a formidable challenge for me as I navigated a myriad of transitions. Acclimating to a new environment posed its own set of hurdles, particularly with the cold climate juxtaposed against my prior experience in a hot climate. Furthermore, the educational system presented a marked departure from what I had grown accustomed to, necessitating a process of unlearning and relearning in order to thrive throughout the semester. Fortunately, the unwavering support of the lecturers and faculty members played an instrumental role in surmounting these obstacles and attaining commendable performance in my modules. Confronting and overcoming this significant challenge not only facilitated a swift adaptation to new circumstances but also instilled within me a sense of resilience in the face of future demanding situations
 

What is your favourite way to spend your time when you are not studying? Why is that important to you? 

I spend time at the beach in Aberdeen, as the city's coastal location perfectly complements my leisurely pursuits. Deliberately allocating time to visit the beach allows me to unwind, engage in introspection, forge new friendships, and expand my network. The serene ambiance of the beach provides an ideal setting for relaxation and contemplation, enabling me to rejuvenate my mind and find clarity amidst the soothing sounds of the waves. Additionally, the beach serves as a social hub where I can connect with like-minded individuals, fostering new friendships and networking opportunities that enhance both my personal and professional spheres.

What would you say to someone considering studying at RGU? Any advice you would share? 

Education should be viewed as a valuable investment, and it is crucial to maximize the benefits derived from it. What do you enjoy most about living in Aberdeen (city, food, people, entertainment, travel, etc.)?

The city of Aberdeen emanates a warm and inclusive ambiance, extending a welcoming embrace to all. The locals are known for their hospitable nature and accommodating demeanour, creating an environment where everyone feels embraced and accepted. When it comes to culinary delights, Aberdeen leaves no craving unfulfilled, offering a diverse array of food options to cater to every taste and preference. The city boasts a seamless and convenient transportation system, ensuring easy access to every corner within and beyond its borders.
