What attracted you to your course at RGU?

Cybersecurity is constantly evolving and has high demand for skilled professionals. The MSc Cyber Security program at RGU provides an opportunity to study into network security, security testing, machine learning, malware analysis, and incident response areas. The program also provides ample opportunities for hands-on, practical learning, which I believe will be helpful in my future career.

Before coming to RGU, what was your expectation of it - and how has the reality been? 

Before coming to RGU, I did extensive research on the university, and I had some expectations that it would have a good learning atmosphere, adequate study resources, and support for student well-being. RGU has exceeded my expectations in a variety of ways since I arrived. The lecturers and supporting staff go the extra mile to help students achieve their dreams. The university also provides plenty of academic resources, including a large library, workshops, and lab facilities. Additionally, the university utilizes modern technology, providing students with a learning environment that goes beyond traditional methods.

What's the best thing about being an RGU student? 

The university offers an exceptional study environment, and one of the highlights is the RGU library, which has a large collection of books and learning resources. Moreover, the library provides a breathtaking view, making it an ideal place to study. Personally, I enjoy my study hours in this peaceful location.
As an RGU student, I have access to a variety of support programs that are in place to help me succeed academically, mentally, and personally. Additionally, the university has a diverse student body, and I have had the opportunity to interact with individuals from various backgrounds and cultures.

Tell us about your most challenging/rewarding project/assignment/module. What did you like/ dislike about it and how has it helped you? 

Every coursework I have undertaken at RGU has proven to be challenging. However, I have accepted these challenges wholeheartedly, dedicating myself to giving my best in everything I do. I attempt to approach each assignment with passion and to push myself to reach my maximum ability.
 

What is your favourite way to spend your time when you are not studying? Why is that important to you? 

When I'm not studying, I like to do a variety of things. I love spending time outdoors and connecting with nature. I love walking in the park or beach, enjoying the fresh air. In addition, I often make plans with my international friends whom I have met at RGU. We enjoy exploring Aberdeen together and making the most of our free time by creating unforgettable memories.

What do you enjoy most about living in Aberdeen (city, food, people, entertainment, travel, etc.)? 

One of the things I like about Aberdeen is its calm atmosphere. The city's streets are less overcrowded, allowing for a more peaceful and delightful experience as I explore. Another one of the benefits of living in Aberdeen is the diverse range of dining options, which includes a few Asian restaurants and cafés. They serve authentic regional dishes, allowing me to enjoy the tastes that remind me of home.

What would you say to someone considering studying at RGU? Any advice you would share? 

RGU offers a great student experience with numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. The friendly academic staff, a great deal of self-study materials, a modern campus with advanced technology, and additional assistance for student well-being contribute to a balanced educational experience. The range of events and clubs available to students also provides opportunities for networking and personal fulfilment. RGU consistently reaffirms its dedication to creating an environment that allows students to achieve their academic goals.
