Settling in and meeting other students
Moving to a new city and starting university can take a little time to get used to. Living in RGU Student Halls means you’ll be surrounded by other RGU students who are also settling into university life, giving you plenty of opportunities to meet people and make new connections. You’ll live alongside students from different courses and backgrounds, whether that’s in your flat, your building or elsewhere in your residence. You’ll have the opportunity to make friends with your flatmates, meet others on your course who live nearby, or simply get to know the people you see around your accommodation.
How much you get involved is entirely up to you – you can take advantage of opportunities to get involved in halls life, or simply enjoy having your own space and routine.

When you choose RGU Student Halls, your accommodation is managed by the University. That means you have a clear point of contact for accommodation-related questions, maintenance issues and tenancy matters throughout your stay. There’s no need to arrange your own maintenance or be unsure about who to contact if something goes wrong in your accommodation. You can report issues to the University, and our teams will take it from there.
You’ll also have access to support from other University teams and services when you need it. From practical questions about your accommodation to support with wider student life, you’re part of the RGU community and there are people here to help.

With shared spaces and organised activities alongside having your own room and somewhere to relax at the end of the day, halls give you a balance of social opportunities and space to yourself while you study.
Support when you need it
Moving away from home and adjusting to university life can bring its own challenges, particularly in your first year. Living in RGU Student Halls means you have access to support from our ResLife team, alongside the wider support available across the University. ResLife is there to help create a positive living environment and to provide support when residents need it. They can offer advice and reassurance about issues that arise in your accommodation and, where appropriate, help connect you with the University's wider support services.
Our accommodation teams and ResLife work together to support the wellbeing of residents and help make sure that concerns can be addressed appropriately. If something happens in your accommodation or you are worried about yourself or another student, there are people you can contact for advice and support.
Living independently is an important part of university life. RGU Student Halls give you the opportunity to develop that independence while knowing that support is available when you need it.
