Design Studio Taster Session

Are you in S4-S6 and think you might be interested in studying Architecture at university? Come along to our workshop and enjoy a morning of Design Studio thinking, drawing, making and imagining guided by our staff.

This workshop will give you an insight into the nature of “Architecture Design Studio”. This is where 50% of a students time is spent on an Architecture course and where design problems are explored and potential solutions proposed through discussion, drawing and modelling.

In the workshop we will introduce a simple design task with some key concepts, guiding you through a design process using a range of techniques. By the end of the workshop you will have produced a more refined physical model, then we will show you how to create a dramatic visual image through photography and editing of the image in graphic editing software.

All materials will be provided and the workshop will be supported by some of our students as well as staff.
