Evening Courses

This 9-week evening course invites participants to explore the ancient craft of throwing; a method of forming pottery using a potter’s wheel. Aimed at beginners and those with an interest in expanding their clay skills, participants will be taught fundamental wheel throwing techniques and will learn how to form basic and intricate shapes before producing their own final outcome.

This 9-week evening course is designed to provide beginners with the basic skills required to hand build with clay. Throughout the duration of the course, you will focus on a number of different processes that will provide you with the basic skills required to construct your own three- dimensional form.

This 9-week evening course has been designed to allow participants to develop projects with guidance and demonstration from the tutor. Throughout the duration of the course, you will be introduced to several different techniques used to create ceramics. Techniques include hand building, mould making, casting and a variety of finishing techniques including raku firing.

During a series of playful workshops, illustrator Gabrielle Reith will introduce participants to a number of basic techniques used within drawing and painting. Each workshop is designed to help participants lose their inhibitions and explore different materials whilst learning to draw from observation.

Throughout this series of drawing and painting workshops, participants are invited to engage with both traditional and contemporary approaches to figure drawing. Participants can expect to learn measuring techniques, tonal drawing and painting techniques and are invited to experiment with movement and mark making techniques in order to produce their own studies of the human form.

This 9-week course has been designed to provide beginners with the basic principles of Film Photography, a discipline also referred to as Analogue Photography. During the course you will be introduced to manual camera operation, darkroom practice, studio practice and the production of black and white prints.

The aim of this 9-week course is to provide guidance to those currently exploring Film Photography or Analogue Photography at an intermediate stage.
