Art Weekenders

Second Home Studio and Café

A collaboration between friends, this Art Weekender invites you to slow down and be part of a creative form of meditation.

second-home-aberdeen-400wSecond Home Studio + Café is a not for profit organisation focussing on making art more accessible.

They are committed to expanding and empowering our local creative community.

Together, for this Art Weekender we have curated an 'Art and Mindfulness Retreat' which will take place at Gray’s School of Art.

This involves a mix of mindfulness exercises with drawing and painting incorporated throughout.

Join this special Art Weekender, a two-day Art and Mindfulness Retreat lead by Kirsty Cameron, the founder of Second Home Studio and Café.

This playful, one day workshop invites participants to create their own art in response to sound. The aim of this activity is to support participants in finding a sense of fluidity between their own body and mind. A place to create artwork, in a space where you are absorbed into the sounds around you.

During this calm, one day workshop participants are invited to learn the process of eco printing with the aim to construct their own lavender scented, weighted eye pillow.

Join this one-hour session of embodied movement which involves drawing using the movements led by the participant’s own body. The session will be led by Megan Alexandra Keith, who is the yogi behind Breathe Sisters.

Learn how to overcome the fear of a blank page during a day of mindful sketch booking exercises. This relaxed one day workshop combines mindfulness practice with drawing instruction.
