Art Weekenders

Aberdeen Ceramics Studio

Aberdeen Ceramics Studio is a team of six passionate ceramicists and potters who share a vision to make working with ceramics available to everyone in the North East of Scotland.

Our third Art Weekender will take place Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February 2023

Join two of the team from Aberdeen Ceramics Studio for this one-day workshop where you are invited to learn how to hand build clay sculptures with ceramicists AJ Simpson and Celda Tyndall.

Guided by a member of the team from Aberdeen Ceramics Studio, you are invited to learn the technique of press moulding with the aim to make your own dish or plate. In addition, you will be introduced to a number of different surface decoration techniques which can be applied to your own piece of crockery.

Participants are invited to bring their own bisque fired work to our Raku Art Weekender with Aberdeen Ceramics Studio. This workshop will take place outdoors where you will be introduced to the process of Raku; a Japanese style of pottery that involves low temperature earthenware firing combined with a rapid firing cycle.

Spend your Saturday with one of the team from Aberdeen Ceramics Studio. This one-day introductory workshop invites you to spend your time learning the ancient craft of throwing; a method of forming pottery using a potter’s wheel.
