The opportunity

The Board of Governors of Robert Gordon University, Scottish University of the year 2020, wishes to appoint an Independent Governor with current knowledge and experience of secondary school Leadership, to contribute to the University’s strategic mission to transform individuals and communities by providing demand-led teaching and research to contribute to economic, social and cultural development.

Ideally we would expect candidates to have current or recent experience of operating at Head/Deputy Head level or equivalent within a Scottish Secondary School.

This is an excellent opportunity to join our Board, where you will gain a range of experience and expand your network. The Board of Governors, working with the Principal, has ultimate responsibility for approving the strategy of the university and for monitoring the proper and effective use of funds and resources. Appointment will be for a four-year period initially, with the possibility to extend for up to a further four years. The post is not remunerated.
