Workshops for School Pupils

There are a variety of interactive workshops that are run for school pupils, including everything from study skill sessions to team-building days.

The Student Recruitment Team also regularly attend school career fairs and UCAS Higher Education Conferences.

Careers events

Throughout the year we support a number of events which are hosted by individual schools and FE colleges.

The Student Recruitment Team are available to attend other school events such as career conventions, or parents' evenings to offer advice on routes into Higher Education.

UCAS Higher Education Conventions

UCAS conventions bring together a variety of universities and colleges, and are designed to inform and guide prospective university and college students.

Subject Specific Workshops and Events

We run a range of subject specific workshops, presentations and events for secondary school pupils, throughout the academic year.

Presentations and Workshops

Robert Gordon University offers a range of sessions which are designed to benefit your school pupils in their preparations for leaving school.

Our team of experienced Liaison Officers are very happy to visit your school or college and deliver a range of engaging presentations/workshops, which are as far as possible aligned to the Curriculum for Excellence.

The free workshops can be delivered as a "one-off" or as a series, depending upon your requirements. Sessions normally take between 40-60 minutes each. Topics we currently cover include:

  • Introduction to Studying at University/How to Choose a University
  • Note Making Techniques
  • Confidence and Communication Skills (90 minutes)
  • Revision and Exam Techniques
  • Writing a Personal Statement
  • Student Finance
  • Routes from Further Education into Higher Education (Degree Link Options)

We can also arrange tailor-made presentations for individual schools or year groups.
