IELTS Indicator

IELTS Indicator is an online test that you can take from the comfort of your home, to help you continue your education journey during the COVID-19 situation.

The test is available once a week and covers all four skills; Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The test uses live test questions and is marked by IELTS examiners.

You will get an indicative score for each section and an overall band score within seven days of taking your test. It is important to note that the IELTS Indicator is not a substitute for the in-person IELTS test. A test taker may still need to take an in-person IELTS test at a test centre once testing resumes to meet the requirements of their university or education provider.

What you’ll need to take your test:

  • a quiet and comfortable space
  • a laptop or desktop computer (Mac or PC only – you cannot take IELTS Indicator on mobile)
  • a computer that meets the minimum and recommended system requirements
  • a reliable internet connection
  • the ability to download and install a Safe Exam Browser (SEB) - Follow the instructions given in these videos to know how to download SEB on your computer (Windows and Mac OS)
  • wired or wireless headphones (for good sound quality during your Listening test)
  • a working web camera
  • Zoom application downloaded on your laptop

Linguaskill

Linguaskill is an online, multi-level test with fast and accurate testing of all four language skills: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Linguaskill is administered and invigilated at an arranged venue, this could be your own current higher education provider or private testing centre.

LanguageCert International ESOL B2 Communicator

LanguageCert International ESOL B2 exams assess all four language skills of candidates. There are 2 separate exams, the first measure your reading/writing and listening and the second exams tests your spoken ability.

Book the test online, select the test you want to do under "Book your Online Exam". Select your location and native language as well as a date and time that suits you.

Indian State Boards

We now accept all state board Higher or Senior Secondary 12th examination English results for our programmes. However if you are joining one of our specialised courses which have a regulatory body requirement for a formal SELT, then this would not be accepted.

Please note, some courses may require a higher standard of English than stated in this page. Refer to course details or contact admissions@rgu.ac.uk for further information.
