Overview

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects. Students selected for this prestigious scholarship will be expected to be ambassadors Robert Gordon University and on completion of their master’s programme act as an ambassador for the GREAT scholarship, possibly speaking with future students interested in studying in the UK to share their experience.

Please note that applicants should be passport holders of Ghana, India or Pakistan.

  • To be eligible, applicants must have met all conditions (excluding deposit payment) by 19 May 2024
  • Be a citizen of Ghana, India or Pakistan
  • Have an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university
  • Motivated and academically able to follow and benefit from a UK postgraduate taught course
  • Active in the field with work experience or with a proven interest in the proposed subject area
  • Meet the English language requirement of the UK Higher Education Institution
  • Willing to embody the UK Higher Education experience, by attending lectures and tutorials and engaging with extra-curricular activities, and act as an ambassador for UK Higher Education, by promoting the value of studying at a UK HEI
  • Willing to establish an engagement with the UK as a scholar, through personal and academic fulfilment
  • Represent the high standards of the GREAT brand by becoming an advocate for scholarships
  • Willing to attend a networking event of all UK-based GREAT scholars, to discuss experiences and capture perceptions of studying in the UK
  • Where other scholarships have been awarded, the higher of the sum of the financial award, scholarship or discount, will be applied. Only one award can be held per offer

  • University scholarship, financial award and discount will be awarded upon enrolment at the University
  • Discounts will be awarded at the discretion of the University
  • The most beneficial individual award for each student, the higher of the sum of the financial award, scholarship or discount, will be applied. Only one award can be held per offer
  • RGU Scholarships and Awards are for self-funding students only
