What subject are you currently studying/did you most recently study at university? What persuaded you to choose this option?

I study BA (Hons) Fashion Management – I chose this option as it allowed for 3rd year entry from college.

What course did you study at college, and which college did you attend?

I studied HND Retail Management at Dundee and Angus College.

What did you find easy and what did you find difficult about making the transition from college to university?

I find it easy to show confidence in class and ask questions whenever I am confused.

I initially found it difficult to know how to write academically and to reference appropriately when writing essays and assignments.

WHY RGU? WHAT WAS IT THAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE UNIVERSITY?

I initially did not have intentions to study at RGU, but I am glad I did as it was the best decision I made regarding my academic progress.

HOW WOULD YOU RATE YOUR EXPERIENCE AT RGU?

I rate my experience at RGU very highly – I have really enjoyed my university life, although sometimes I struggle to keep a healthy balance between my studies and social life!

HOW DID RGU SUPPORT YOU IN YOUR JOURNEY? DID YOU USE ANY OF THE SUPPORT SERVICES AVAILABLE TO YOU?

When entering university, I watched all of the Study Skills help videos that were available to me, but I feel that nothing really prepares you for the workload and how difficult it can be, until you’re actually facing it.

Would you recommend the route you chose, and specifically the college to university pathway?

I definitely would – especially because I left college and started working full-time after finishing the course, before deciding to go back to university a few years later. Others in a similar position may benefit from this pathway, similar to myself.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS?

After graduation, I hope to head to Australia and do some travelling for a while, and then hopefully apply to fashion-related jobs when I return.
