StoriedPlace Toolkit
StoriedPlace is a place-based storytelling toolkit. It includes a physical storytelling hamper, storytelling canvas and this website, aiming to encourage individuals, community groups and organisations to plan for place-based storytelling.

Stories are wonderful; they unlock our past, teach us about our present, and help us navigate our future.
StoriedPlace is a toolkit for place-based storytelling projects, for individuals, groups and organisations, interested in collecting, curating and creating stories from their place.
The toolkit consists of two parts: the physical storytelling canvas and hamper, and this accompanying website. While the website can be used on its own, we strongly suggest using the storytelling canvas and hamper alongside it, as this will encourage co-creation with your community or peers, facilitate in-person collaboration and provide an excuse to have some fun!
The hamper includes the storytelling canvas printed on tablecloths and drink coasters with QR codes on them, which will link you to relevant sections on the website. If you are interested in accessing one of our storytelling hampers please contact the team. Our storytelling canvas is also available to download, which we recommend printing in A3 format.

The toolkit is a result of several place-based storytelling research and applied projects, conducted by researchers at Robert Gordon University.

This section provokes thinking and consideration of issues, embedded in the process of finding, listening and recording stories.

The Curation stage considers which stories are retained for your project, and which are left out. This guide helps with the key ethical and technical considerations in this process.

Stories can be told in a variety of creative ways, from oral telling to music and art. This page helps to ensure the process is supported by the contextual, ethical and methodological deliberations.
