StoriedPlace
StoriedPlace is a place-based storytelling toolkit. It includes a physical storytelling hamper, storytelling canvas and this website, aiming to encourage individuals, community groups and organisations to plan for place-based storytelling.

Stories are wonderful; they unlock our past, teach us about our present, and help us navigate our future.
StoriedPlace is a toolkit for place-based storytelling projects, for individuals, groups and organisations, interested in collecting, curating and creating stories from their place.
The information is designed to work alongside a physical storytelling canvas and/or hamper, which can be ordered by contacting the project team. It is structured around three stages of place-based storytelling: Collection, Curation and Creation (the 3C's). Its main aim is to encourage thinking about and plan for the multitude of aspects involved in storytelling projects, by organising them into short and yet comprehensive questions and guides.
The toolkit has been developed using the findings, materials and lessons learnt from several storytelling projects, conducted by the team of researchers at Robert Gordon University, as well as wider storytelling literature and experience.

The toolkit is a result of several place-based storytelling research and applied projects, conducted by researchers at Robert Gordon University.

This section provokes thinking and consideration of issues, embedded in the process of finding, listening and recording stories.

The Curation stage considers which stories are retained for your project, and which are left out. This guide helps with the key ethical and technical considerations in this process.

Stories can be told in a variety of creative ways, from oral telling to music and art. This page helps to ensure the process is supported by the contextual, ethical and methodological deliberations.

Browse case studies of projects, stories and creative practitioners. These case studies illustrate challenges and opportunities of storytelling and help answer questions in this toolkit.
