Erin Williams
Fine Art student and Athletics Hurdler.
What is your sport and position?
Athletics, specifically hurdling.
What made you pick your sport?
I was roped into competing at a local league competition and loved it! I’ve been in the sport ever since.
If you didn’t do your sport, what would you do and why?
I think I would play golf! I have the patience for it.
Why did you choose to study at RGU?
Because of the art offering at Grey’s and I liked the facilities.
How do you think the sport scholar program will help you progress as a student athlete?
Already I think the programme has helped with my fitness for competitions and I do different exercises. It has also given me a chance to become more social. Both of which I hope to continue this year.
What is your greatest sporting achievement?
Winning silver in the 60m hurdles at the Scottish indoor championships
Who is your sporting role model and why?
Ditaji Kambundji as she is also a hurdler and you can see her progress over the years. She is now world champion!
What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt from your sport?
The ability to work as a team and individually as both are important skills to have.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Travelling around Italy.
Favourite sporting memory?
Watching Usain Bolt competing at the Olympics on TV.
