Preparing for your Return

The RGU SPORT team have been working hard, getting ready to welcome you all back. Our main priority is the wellbeing, health and safety of our staff, members and users.

RGU SPORT is open!

In line with Scottish Government guidance, RGU SPORT reopened on Monday 26 April 2021. Find out our new opening hours:

RGU SPORT Covid-19 Guidance Sheets

Please read the relevant Covid-19 guidance sheets prior to coming to RGU SPORT.

Please note external facility hirers will be contacted separately regarding returning to RGU SPORT.

Welcome If Procedure

By entering RGU SPORT, you are agreeing to our “welcome if” procedure. What this means is that you are welcome if you agree to:

  • Stay at home if you are feeling unwell and only enter RGU SPORT if you and your household have no symptoms of Coronavirus, you are not awaiting a test result or have not been informed you should be self-isolating.
  • Follow our guidance around hand washing and sanitising.
  • Commit to wiping down all equipment you use before and after each use.
  • Comply with social distancing guidance.

For Your Safety

The facility will look a bit different when you come back, and there will be new procedures in place to ensure your safety.

Please take a few minutes to watch our Welcome Back Induction video.

The RGU Test & Protect Check-In web app is fast, secure, easy to use, and can be used to share information on building visits with the NHS, in support of their contact tracing processes. All RGU SPORT visitors, users and members must use the app to sign in and out on every visit.

Please arrive exercise-ready and keep all personal items to a minimum as the changing rooms are for essential use only.

Clear signage and one-way systems will be in place highlighting where to enter and exit the building and each space within the facility.

Restrictions on capacities will be in place which will reduce the number of people in certain areas, minimising congestion and helping you to comply with social distancing practices.

Changing Rooms

Changing rooms and showers should only be used if required. Users should arrive exercise or swim ready and should shower at home rather than in the facility. If showering in the facility is essential, please limit your time within the changing areas to 10 minutes.

Face Coverings

Face coverings must be worn at all times, unless exempt, when using RGU SPORT. Face covering may be removed during exercise.

The equipment has been rearranged or marked out of use to conform to social distancing measures. Floor markings have been measured out so you can keep your distance during your favourite group exercise classes.

An online booking system will be in operation to control usage levels and keep you safe while you start your exercise routines again. You must pre-book all your sessions/classes online at MyRGUSPORT prior to arriving at the facility.

Cleanliness & Hygiene

Extensive and increased cleaning practices will be in place which uses high quality cleaning chemicals effective against COVID-19. The double cleaning approach, as per government guidelines, will be in place to ensure all areas are cleaned and sanitised thoroughly.

The gyms will be regularly cleaned throughout every session and subjected to a deep clean during scheduled closure slots during the day.

Hand Sanitising Stations

You will find hand sanitising stations located throughout the facility. Please ensure you use the hand sanitiser upon entering and exiting each exercise zone and upon leaving the building. Please also regularly wash your hands throughout your time within the facility.

Cleaning Stations

Cleaning stations will be conveniently placed throughout the facility for you to wipe-clean your kit before and after each use.
