Practice Supervisor & Practice Assessor Preparation

Developed in partnership between Robert Gordon University and NHS Grampian, NHS Orkney and NHS Shetland, this is a stand-alone programme and is free of charge.

To undertake preparation as a Practice Supervisor/Practice Assessor you will undertake six units of online learning via Turas. Within 3 months of starting these units of learning, learners will also need to complete a contextualised session, giving the opportunity to apply all the theory gained during the online learning to their own practice setting. The session covers:

  • The course curricula
  • Implementation of the Standards for Student Supervision and Learning in Practice 
  • Practice Assessment Documentation
  • Protocol to support students who require additional practice learning support 

Sessions will be offered for pre-registration nursing and midwifery and post-registration specialist qualifications; the can be booked via Turas - search for: 

  • PS/PA Contextualised Session pre-reg and/or PS/PA Contextualised Session post-reg 

Pre-registration nursing and midwifery sessions will be available from 11 November 2020.
