Robert Gordon University (RGU) has once again been recognised among the UK's leading universities for graduate employability and subject excellence in the newly published Daily Mail University Guide 2027.
The guide highlights RGU's continued strength in preparing students for successful careers, with the University ranked 11th in the UK for Careers On-track and 19th in the UK for High-Skilled Jobs, placing it among the nation's best-performing institutions for graduate outcomes. Notably, RGU improved its position for High-Skilled Jobs by four places compared with last year.
These results underline RGU's success in preparing students for the world of work, with nationally recognised graduate outcomes demonstrating the University's ability to equip graduates with the skills, experience and industry insight required to secure and excel in highly skilled careers.
The University also performed strongly across several subject areas, with four disciplines ranked among the top 10 in the UK:
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 1st in the UK (out of 60 institutions)
- Physiotherapy: 1st in the UK (out of 51 institutions)
- Sport and Exercise Sciences: 6th in the UK (out of 66 institutions)

Across the University, RGU was also recognised for strong levels of student support, ranking 22nd in the UK in this category.
Professor Steve Olivier, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Robert Gordon University, said:
"These results highlight what RGU is known for: preparing graduates who are ready for work and ready to succeed. Through industry-informed courses, hands-on learning and strong employer connections, we ensure our students develop the skills and experience employers are looking for. We are delighted to see this reflected in our excellent graduate outcomes and the national recognition achieved by a number of our subject areas."
Alastair McCall, Editor of the Daily Mail University Guide, said:
“RGU has maintained an outstanding record for getting graduates good jobs. Just under four in every five end up in high-skilled employment, many of them having met their employer during the work placements integral to many courses. RGU mixes it with the elite Russell Group universities when it comes to graduate employment - even beating 14 of them.”
The Daily Mail University Guide evaluates universities across a range of measures including graduate outcomes, student support, teaching quality and subject-level performance.
The latest results further demonstrate RGU's strengths in delivering career-focused education and supporting students into highly skilled employment, while maintaining excellence across a broad range of disciplines.
