RGU recognised for employability

Students choosing Robert Gordon University (RGU) can be confident they’re joining a university focused on turning learning into real-world success.

The latest Guardian University Guide highlights RGU's strong performance for graduate career prospects, with an 85% career prospects score placing the University alongside some of Scotland's most established universities.

Subject excellence 

The Guide ranks RGU as the top university in Scotland for:
•    Physiotherapy
•    Nutrition and Food Science
•    Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Four additional subjects are ranked second in Scotland:
•    Forensic Science
•    Hospitality, Event Management and Tourism
•    Fine Art
•    Construction Surveying and Planning

Student support 

The University has also improved its position at both UK and Scottish level for Continuation, reflecting RGU's success in supporting students to progress and complete their studies.

In addition, RGU is ranked top in Scotland for Assessment and Feedback and is among the top 20 universities in the UK for this measure.

Assessment and Feedback is based on students' views of:

•    The clarity of marking criteria
•    Fairness of marking and assessment
•    Opportunities to demonstrate learning
•    Timeliness of assessment feedback
•    How feedback supports improvement

These results reflect RGU's commitment to providing a supportive learning environment where students receive the guidance and feedback they need to succeed.

Career success 

The results also reflect RGU's distinctive approach to work-integrated learning, which connects academic study with practical experience, industry engagement, research, enterprise and community partnerships throughout the student journey.

This work-integrated approach helps students build not only academic knowledge, but also the practical skills, professional networks and confidence needed to thrive in their chosen careers.

Fakhar-Un-Nisa studied Construction Law and Arbitration (2016- 2019) and now works for Hill International as a Country Manager. He said: “My studies at RGU supported my journey toward becoming an Arbitrator while enhancing my effectiveness in practice.
