Robert Gordon University (RGU) has been ranked as the top university in Scotland and third in the UK for the employability of its graduates.

The University has furthered its leading reputation for graduate employability in the most recent statistics from the Higher Education Graduate Outcomes survey which show that 96.1% of its graduates are in employment or further study 15 months after graduation.

Published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency, the results are a national recognition of RGU’s top employability record among universities across the UK (excluding non-specialist higher education institutions) and demonstrate the emphasis the University places on preparing its graduates for the labour market.

RGU’s Principal, Professor Steve Olivier, comments: “The employment of our graduates is extremely important to us and the latest data from HESA is testament to our commitment to equipping students with the essential knowledge and skills to thrive as highly employable graduates.

“Our excellent graduate employability record is a result of our close collaboration with employers across all sectors in the design and delivery of our courses to offer teaching excellence through a relevant curriculum that is responsive to the evolving needs of the industry.

“The results also show the significant role that works placements and work-based learning play within our courses and the importance of embedding enterprise across all of our teaching and learning activity.

“In a changing society, we will ensure the sustained evolution of our curriculum so that our graduates can continue to succeed in their ambitions and make a positive impact within society well into the future.”

Graduate Outcomes is the biggest annual social survey in the UK and captures the employment perspectives and current status of recent graduates.
