HAAN design pop-up
In a year when sustainability and shopping local are increasingly important, RGU is hosting a pop-up market in Aberdeen Art Gallery, showcasing some of the best local creative talent.

The HAAN Design Pop-Up, delivered by Look Again at Gray’s School of Art and supported by Aberdeen City Council, will involve high-quality creative products from 15 North-East based designers and makers.

This event, which takes place from 5-7th of December, celebrates and showcases these unique small businesses and independents in the stunning location of Aberdeen Art Gallery.

HAAN has been carefully curated to show a variety of original products ranging from jewellery, ceramics, and textiles, to illustration, clothing and homeware.

Sally Reaper, Look Again Co-Director at Gray’s, commented: “There is a real drive to support local in light of the ongoing pandemic and the HAAN Design Pop-Up will showcase some of the best creatives we have in the North-East.

“Almost all of the creatives involved in the pop-up are either Gray’s alumni or have been supported by the university through Look Again Festival and various accelerator and entrepreneurship programmes. It’s amazing to see how they have all developed their small businesses this year.

“Please come out in force, in a safe socially distanced way, to support this super group of dedicated, hardworking and highly original creatives from the North-East.”

The Lord Provost of Aberdeen, Barney Crockett, said: “It’s more important than ever this year to shop local and support Aberdeen’s designers and makers. I can’t wait to see these 15 talented makers with their unique wares under one spectacular roof of Aberdeen Art Gallery. I know that visitors will enjoy a warm, welcoming, safe – and socially-distanced – seasonal shopping experience.”

To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit for everyone, please pre-book a free timed-entry ticket for HAAN at Aberdeen Art Gallery. Booking for a two-hour slot is advisable to guarantee entry on your preferred date and time and can be made leading up to the event and on the day.

HAAN will be curated across each floor of the Art Gallery, including the Cowdray Hall, to ensure social distancing measures are in place.
