Kirsty Stewart has graduated with first class honours and is focused on using the skills and knowledge she acquired to make a positive impact having secured a new job. The 25-year-old from Renfrewshire opted to study online as it could easily fit into her commitments.

Kirsty did not feel university was for her after leaving school and eventually she secured college qualifications in admin and IT. Having started her career she was keen to carry on learning and growing.

It important for Kirsty to have more options for her own future, and the BA (Hons) Business Management was the best option for her.

Kirsty said: “I chose Business Management because it’s such a versatile degree, I had exposure to some of the fields throughout my career such as Project Management, Accountancy and Communications but I liked that the degree could open doors into even more disciplines and industries, giving me skills I could use in the future.

“I was really drawn to the flexibility of the course. Because it was online and designed to suit people with busier schedules it made university feel so much more realistic and something I could balance alongside my job. I also loved how varied the modules were in the course, each one focused on a completely different area giving me different experience, rather than having to narrow my choice down to a specific discipline. Of course, studying at a reputable university like RGU made the decision easier.”

While Kirsty is focused on her job for now, she hasn’t ruled out returning to study at RGU at another point in the future.

She also very proud with securing first class honours and has praised the support from both staff and fellow student

Kirsty said: “I couldn’t believe I made it this far, and with a first class honours as well. This achievement means so much and I can say I am genuinely proud of myself for pushing through and manging to come out with a result I never thought I could achieve.

“When I look back on my full time at RGU, the support from the staff at RGU and my fellow students made a huge difference. It made the whole experience and challenging and stressful times much more manageable, and I am grateful for that.”
