Our MBA qualifications are highly applied and practice-driven to hone the skills necessary for career development. The aim of these courses is to provide you with a range of modules which best aligns with your subject interests and career aspirations. On graduation you will be able to make an impactful contribution to any contemporary work environment, whether it’s a start-up, family business, SME, or a notional or multi-national organisation.
The MBA Programme comprises of three courses:
- MBA Master of Business Administration
- MBA Oil and Gas Management
- MBA Sustainability and Energy Transitions
The courses in the programme have been built around these core themes:
Academic Underpinning - A solid grounding in the contemporary areas of management will be built upon with modules including finance, economics, HR, marketing, leadership, strategy, law, entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability, ethics and risk management resilience. All students will attend an on-campus Leadership Week event, which will involve a series of lectures, workshops, activities and a team business simulation exercise. You will develop the ability and skills to provide well researched solutions to contemporary strategic challenges.
Behaviours, Skills and Competences - The range of assessments and activities on the MBA courses are designed to help develop professional behaviours and competencies irrespective of study mode, including writing reports, gathering and analysing data, making presentations, critical thinking, IT skills and consultancy skills.

Industry Engagement - The engagement of employers is central to the MBA Programme - we have excellent links with industry and these relationships underpin the activities within the school.
Each of our MBA degrees contains the Consultancy Project, in which you will act as a consultant for a business on an agreed issue to relating to its operation, allowing you to apply your knowledge, leadership and strategic thinking skills within a practical context. All projects focus on real opportunities facing an organisation or government department/agency and are strategic in nature. It gives you valuable experience of working in a multi-national environment and you can also use the Consultancy Project as an opportunity to produce a business plan for your own entrepreneurial venture.
If you choose to study your MBA full-time on campus you will take part in our 9-day Leadership Week event which includes a Business Simulation Exercise, academic and practical workshops, outdoor leadership development day, and guest speakers from academia and industry. You will also have the opportunity to network with fellow MBA students and industry experts from local and national businesses.
