LoCH: Long Covid in Health Workers

LoCH: Long COVID in Health Workers

NHS workers in Scotland affected by Long COVID (ongoing symptoms following COVID) were invited to participate in a short questionnaire and interview study exploring how Long COVID has affected their health and wellbeing, their social and home life, and their employment.

Recruitment to the study is now closed.

We have sent participants who took part in the first study a link to a follow-up questionnaire.

About the Study

LoCH-Logo-300wWe looked for people who have ongoing symptoms of COVID-19 that lasted at least 4 weeks after infection, and/or symptoms lasting 12 weeks or longer. We know that testing for COVID-19 was not available to everyone at the start of the pandemic and so a positive test was not a requirement to take part in this research.

NHS workers in Scotland including any clinical staff and support staff (e.g. porters, cleaners, receptionists) were invited to participate in a confidential short online questionnaire survey. We asked participants to enter their email address to be included in a prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.

Participants were asked to indicate whether they were willing to take part in a telephone or MS Teams interview study, exploring the impact of Long COVID on their personal and work life.  If participants take part in the interviews, they will be offered a voucher in appreciation of sharing your time and experiences with us.

The research team are based at Robert Gordon University and all enquiries and any information that you share will be in strict confidence.

The research is funded by the CSO - Chief Scientist Office and conducted in collaboration with the University of Aberdeen and University of St Andrews.
