Business Ideas and Opportunities Trade Fair
Thursday 19 November 2026 13:00 - 16:30
Location: Sir Ian Wood Building, RGU Campus

The Aberdeen Business School Trade Fair is an annual event where students develop innovative ideas and prototypes to address real-world business opportunities, pitching their concepts to potential stakeholders.
Many of the ideas generated during this ABS module have been developed into actual businesses and teams are often supported through the University’s Accelerator programme. Working in small teams, students develop practical idea generation skills and explore and assess their chosen business opportunity, performing the necessary background research in order to implement the idea generated. Following idea development, students produce a prototype and promote the business opportunity to potential stakeholders using a business pitch format at the annual Trade Fair.
The Trade Fair is widely regarded as a flagship event in the undergraduate calendar at Aberdeen Business School, and indeed many of our students cite their participation in the annual Trade Fair as one of the highlights of their undergraduate experience. This module is one of a number of innovative learning opportunities which really set our courses at Aberdeen Business School apart from others.
