Location: Improvement Academy, Levels 5 & 6, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, DD1 9SY
Please join us for a multi-professional AHP in-person workshop, supported by NHS Tayside. We will explore supporting students on placement who have neurodivergence and/or reasonable adjustments. Due to this being an in-person event places are limited so please register to secure your space!
In this in-person workshop we will explore the following areas:
- An Inclusion update from an RGU perspective
- A range of neurodivergent conditions which are identified on student's inclusion plans (e.g. ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia).
- How neurodivergent differences may impact the demonstration of learning on placement (sensory, communication (verbal and written), planning and organisation.
- Develop an enhanced understanding of how to foster an inclusive environment for learning, including a sense of belonging.
- Understand the terminology of 'reasonable' adjustments within your own workplace and develop a range of reasonable adjustment options for discussion with students.
- Discuss examples of current practice and learn from others.
- Develop strategies to support both practice educators and students in this evolving area.
