Black History Month 2025 Conference

The 2025 Black History Month Conference is more than just an event, it’s an opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute to shaping a more inclusive future.
Designed as a half-day programme, the conference brings together staff, students, and external partners in an interactive and collaborative space that celebrates Black achievement, interrogates ongoing challenges, and highlights pathways toward race equality.
This event is open to everyone across the University community and beyond; academic staff, professional services, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and external partners. Whether you are already engaged in equality work, seeking to learn more, or simply curious, the programme offers valuable insights for all.
What will the event involve?
- Exhibitions & Showcases – Staff and PhD students will display creative, academic, and professional work related to race equality and social justice, offering a chance to engage with new perspectives and innovative approaches.
- Panel Discussion - A thought-provoking panel of internal and external speakers will explore the theme of resilience and progress in the face of adversity, drawing on individual journeys and institutional change stories.
- Student Spotlight - Hear directly from student-led initiatives making a tangible difference within the University, amplifying youth voices and lived experiences.
