This year’s annual Aberdeen Cultural Summit aims not only to inspire but to create an action plan to work towards a thriving Screen sector in the North-East of Scotland.

Aberdeen Cultural Summit is a research-and-outcome driven partnership between RGU, NESCol, the University of Aberdeen and local stakeholders.

Launched in 2023, the Summit takes place once a year and focuses on different aspects of the cultural sector in Aberdeen and the region, with delegates attending from cultural institutions, local authorities and higher and further education.

The focus of this year's summit will be on 'A shared vision for Screen Aberdeen’, encouraging conversations about both the role of the screen sector in the North-East and what we can learn from other cities with similar geographies, challenges and opportunities which have successfully turned the screen sector (and interrelated creative sectors) into a catalyst for cultural regeneration and economic recovery.

The Summit will include keynote speakers, workshops and screenings.

Themes to be explored include:

  • Industry and Production
  • Education and Skills
  • Exhibition and Distribution
  • Community and Independent Film
  • Interactive Media and Content Creation

Keynotes will be from Eloise Grey of Screen Aberdeenshire and Tiernan Kelly of Film City Glasgow.

Cost to attend: Free
