Free Student Membership

At RGU we know how important it is, now more than ever, to live an active lifestyle in order to maintain your physical, mental and social wellbeing. To support students to stay active and well, we are delighted to be offering RGU students free membership.

What's included in your free membership?

Exercise is beneficial for mental, physical, and social wellbeing, which in turn will support you to thrive as a learner at RGU.

As such, all RGU students have access to a free RGU SPORT membership throughout their time at RGU.

Your membership includes unlimited access to the gym, swimming pool and group exercise classes, as well as discounts on our climbing wall and bouldering room, sports hall activities.

How to activate your free membership

  1. Visit MyRGUSPORT
  2. Select ‘login/register’
  3. Select ‘I am RGU Student/Staff (member/non-member)’
  4. Enter personal details (you must register using your RGU student email address)
  5. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions and watch the gym orientation video
  6. Verify the automatic email sent to your email address
  7. Visit the Memberships webpage to activate your free student membership. Select the ‘Free Student Membership’, click ‘Buy Now’ and follow the steps
  8. One complete, you will be able to book into your sessions and activities via MyRGUSPORT Bookings

Gym Orientation 

If you are new to the gym environment, don’t worry, take advantage of our free gym orientations running every day or watch our online gym orientation.  The in-person orientations are designed for anyone that is new to the gym or is looking for a refresher on how to safely use the gym equipment. These can be booked online:

Terms and Conditions 

  • You must be a current RGU student and enrolled into the University for the academic year. Please note that unfortunately, short courses and upskilling courses do not qualify for this membership type.
  • Your Free Student membership will need renewed online at the start of each academic year. Memberships are available to renew from the 1st of September and run until the 31st August of the following year.
  • You must agree and abide to RGU SPORT Terms and Conditions (PDF 903KB).
  • You must agree and abide to the Health Commitment Statement (PDF 80KB).
