Robert Gordon University eHub Jobs, brought to you by the Employability team in partnership with Job Teaser, is the perfect job platform to advertise your vacancies and enhance your company’s profile. By creating a company profile, you are improving your chances of attracting top talent; as students and alumni will have greater visibility to your company, your company’s values and events, even if you don’t have any current job vacancies. eHub Jobs gives you the ability to add videos, pictures, special offers and events to the page which may be of interest to the students and increase their employability.
Face to face activity on campus has been suspended, and our student population have very quickly adapted to a new way of learning and interacting with lecturers and fellow students. The Employability Hub at Robert Gordon University have developed a dedicated online area for Employers to interact with the student population regardless of their location.
Online Employer Presentations – ‘eSkills Sessions’
Online presentations give you the capacity to speak to students live, with the benefit of a variety of other educational support tools built in to make for a positive interactive experience. These include: surveying, breakout groups, and the ability to share relevant applications and screens without leaving the online presentation. Online presentations are an excellent way to engage with the RGU student population in an environment in which they are familiar, building upon your company profile within the university and continuing to develop a talent pipeline.
Video Interviews and Student Presentations
Online tools such as video conferencing are becoming part of the norm of our everyday lives; from daily work outs with Joe Wicks to the weekly team meeting being held through various online platforms. This is also following through into online recruitment and graduate applications. Within the Employability Hub we appreciate that candidate presentations often play a large role in the recruitment process. We are therefore inviting companies to get involved by using our interactive sessions as an online space to allow for real-time two-way interactions with our students to replicate your recruitment processes.
Online Assessment Centres
Working in partnership we can develop and deliver an online assessment centre to meet the needs of your organisation. A tailored approach will ensure that your business needs are met during this difficult time. Get in touch to discuss how we can work together.
We offer a range of academic credit-bearing placements and projects across the university, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Placements can provide: the opportunity for students to consolidate and apply their learning; an invaluable chance to gain real life experience whilst gaining academic credits; experience to boost student employability through developing and expanding their professional network.
We firmly believe that a placement should be a mutually beneficial experience, with the host benefiting as much as the student.
For hosts, a placement can be a fantastic opportunity to:
- Access students with up to date knowledge, fresh ideas and enthusiasm
- Invest in an additional, cost effective resource
- Contribute to CSR strategies – hosting a student can benefit your organisation by demonstrating your commitment to the next generation, their development and the local community.
- Build closer links with the university and establishing connections with the student body
- Establish a talent pipeline - many hosts treat placements like an extended interview, and an opportunity to get a first look at future talent
- Provide supervision / mentoring experience to existing staff
- Enable specific project work to be undertaken that otherwise would have to be delayed due to other priorities.
Timings of placements and projects vary from a few weeks to a full year, depending on the course. Our dedicated team of employability officers can offer a consultative approach, working with employers to connect businesses to the right students at the right time.
If you are interested in working with the university or simply want to find out where to start in finding the right option for you, get in touch with our team or register your interest.
