RGU has a policy to ensure all renovations or new builds follow energy efficient standards of our Net Zero Emissions Construction, Refurbishment and Maintenance Standard.

Our energy and sustainability manager has a remit to drive forward energy efficiencies

This is facilitated by RGU publishing monthly energy consumption per building:

Further to this, the University is part of the Stronghouse project which helps homeowners in the UK and Europe to carry out a self-assessment to find out more about the energy efficiency of their homes and to receive help and information about the kinds of grants available to them to renovate their homes.

The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture & Built Environment offers a postgraduate course aimed at improving energy efficiency of buildings.  The PG Cert Building Retrofit programme was developed to boost the energy performance of the existing buildings and to help decarbonise and help deliver a net zero carbon future.
