Staff & Student Networks

Race Network

The Robert Gordon University Race Equality Network (RGU REN) brings together and empowers a network of staff who are racialised as Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and allies committed to creating an environment where every staff is treated fairly and race is celebrated.

We meet, share information, provide support and through establishing a visible presence on campus ensures that the university remains a vibrant and inclusive environment in which all staff can reach their full potential without the fear of discrimination.

Who is the network for?

The network is open to any staff member, both academic and support staff, who supports the network's values and purpose.

What do we do?

We meet regularly and organise events and activities that promote race inclusion at RGU in collaboration with the Race Equality Champion and the Race Action Group.

We promote our events through the University bulletin, our CampusMoodle Page and via our mailing list.

A network representative seats on the university’s Equality and Diversity Forum, which advises the Executive. This ensures that items of interest and concern to our members can be raised at an appropriate level and that the Network is informed of related activity across the university.
