Updating Student Address Details

To ensure we communicate with you correctly, it is important that you maintain current, correct postal and email addresses. Find out how current students and previous graduates can update their address details.

Postal Address

Our University currently utilises two address types for communication to students.

Home (Permanent) Address

The Home Address should always be your permanent residential address, such as your parents' address or your family address in your home country.

Contact (Term-Time) Address 

The Contact Address is your term time accommodation or residence.  For online learning and part time students this will usually be the same as your Home Address.


Email Address

It is also important for students to update the University with their current personal email address. The email service is the main form of communication for all staff and students.

Emails from RGU will usually be sent to RGU student email accounts, however, personal email accounts can often be copied in.


Updating your Postal or Email Addresses

To ensure relevant and vital information is communicated in a timely matter, it is important that students maintain current, correct postal and email addresses. Students should ensure to check their student email on a regular basis.

Students can update the address details held in their student record through the two methods - Ask RGU and the MyRGU App

Ask RGU

Once signed in to Ask RGU via the following link, click ‘Log Question’ and you will be able to submit a request to have the address details in your student record updated: 

Your enquiry will then be sent to the Student Records Team for processing.

You will receive an update in Ask RGU when your record has been updated or if the Student Records Team requires further information. You can also track and monitor the progress of your enquiry in the ‘My Questions’ tab.

MyRGU App

  • Once logged in (for information on how to access the app, refer to the MyRGU page), click the ‘My Student Record’ tile
  • You will be taken to your ‘My Addresses’ tab where there is the option to ‘Update Address Details’
  • Select the details you would like to update and follow the edit process
