Risk Management & Supply Chain Vulnerability
Short Course - 15 Credits at SCQF level 11 | Commercial Practice for the Energy Sector
This course will develop a capacity to critically review the principles and applications of risk and vulnerability management in the context of commercial environments. It will also enable you to develop and create mitigation methodologies for the prevention and limitation of vulnerability in the context of risk and supply chain.
- Definition of risk and vulnerability in the context of commercial management projects
- Identification and analysis of risk assessment and mitigation strategies in specific situations
- Development and justification of risk transference and vulnerability driven management decisions
- Implementation and monitoring of appropriate management techniques relevant to specific situations
Learning will take place through the University virtual campus with a mix of online lectures, tutorials and self-guided study. Each topic with the Module will have a number of self-required and obligatory activities aimed at emphasising the learning. You are also required to contribute to a number of discussion forums on particular subject matter and case studies.
The module will be assessed by one main piece of coursework and a number of specified activities.

At the end of this module you will have a broad knowledge and understanding of the energy and renewable sectors. You could progress to other modules within the commercial practice course to gain additional credits towards the full MSc.
This will give you the qualification to work within the energy sector as commercial manager and other fields with the energy sector.
A good honours degree and/or relevant industry experience.
