CMI Strategic Management and Leadership
Short Course - CMI SCQF Level 11 Qualification
This programme leads to the CMI SCQF (Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework) Level 11 Strategic Management and Leadership qualifications
It is delivered for a group of corporate delegates after discussion with a public or private organisation on their specific needs, so that we can design a format that will both meet these needs and achieve the learning outcomes set by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) for one or for a combination of modules. This allows for flexibility in terms of what is covered during the programme, while offering an opportunity for a formal recognition of the learning (at either the Award, Certificate, Diploma or Extended Diploma levels).
Several units can be selected to make up the Award, Certificate, or Diploma qualifications, according to the following rule of combination:
CMI SCQF Level 11 Award in Strategic Management and Leadership Delegates need to complete any combination of units to a minimum of 6 credits to achieve this qualification (1 module).
CMI SCQF Level 11 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership
Delegates need to complete a combination of units to a minimum of 13 credits to achieve this qualification (2 modules – the CMI syllabus indicates how they need to be selected).
CMI SCQF Level 11 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership

This corporate programme is delivered via face-to-face workshops or series of workshops, online distance learning or blended modes of delivery with the support of an academic tutor.
Learning materials and guidance are provided to support corporate delegates and provide them with underpinning knowledge and academic theory.
Assessment is through a knowledge and evidence based portfolio required by the CMI which corporate delegates will develop from the enhanced knowledge and skills from the course (formal learning) together with the application in the workplace (experiential learning).
Assessment criteria are set out in each of the units and will consist of essay-style reports demonstrating corporate delegates have met the CMI criteria for the qualification.
Corporate delegates will have full access to the university library (including online access to a large number of academic journals online) as well as the resources of the CMI via the CMI website.
The course may be delivered both online, at RGU premises or at the corporate client premises, depending on what is selected during the design of the programme.
